Rules and Safety Regulations:

  1. Family Trips: Completion of ORAC Sand Driver Training is not required for family trips.
  2. Sand Trips: All vehicles must have a sand flag attached at all times while driving on sand.
  3. Vehicle Checks: Before starting any trip, ensure that all vehicles undergo a basic safety check (tire pressure, fuel levels, lights, recovery gear, etc.).
  4. Seat Belts: All passengers must wear seat belts at all times when the vehicle is in motion.
  5. Vehicle Requirements: Your vehicle must be capable of switching to 4×4 Low Range. All-wheel drive vehicles are not permitted.
  6. Passenger Safety: Passengers must not ride on the sides of the vehicle or lean out of windows at any time.
  7. Campsite Driving: For safety reasons, do not drive around the campsite after dark or early in the morning.
  8. Camping Area: Please camp within sight of the main campsite area where the ORAC Committee is stationed.
  9. Following the Lead Car: Always follow the lead car and stay on the convoy tracks, regardless of your driving experience.
  10. Stuck Vehicles: If a vehicle is being recovered, keep all children inside your vehicle until the recovery is complete.
  11. Child Supervision: Please supervise your children at the campsite.  
  12. Vehicle Permissions: Red number plate cars are not be permitted on any ORAC events (without special permission and prior agreement with the ORAC Chairman).
