ORAC Beginners Practical Training – Learn the Basics of Sand Driving
Are you new to off-roading? Want to gain confidence driving on sand?
ORAC is hosting a Beginners Practical Training designed exclusively for absolute beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of off-road driving in the dunes.
Location: Al Abyad Sand Dunes
Date: Saturday, 22nd February
Time: 8 AM – 12 PM
Vehicle Requirement: Must be 4×4 with 4L (Low Range) capabilities
Person Limit: Maximum 2 people per car
Age Limit: 16+
Sand Flag: Mandatory (available at Top Tour Camping or Motor Studios)
What You’ll Learn:
- Different methods to deflate your tires and why it’s important
- How to engage 4×4 modes and when to use them
- Basic sand driving, including ascending and descending safely
- How to recover a stuck vehicle
Fee: 10 OMR + 5% VAT = 10.500 OMR per car (charged to your RAH membership number)
Important Notes:
- This training is strictly for absolute beginners. If you have attended an ORAC practical training before or have experience driving on sand, this session is not for you.
- This training does not qualify you for the Wahiba Challenge.
- ORAC will provide recovery equipment, but feel free to bring your own – we will be happy to show you how to use it.
